Why We Built This Site
North Carolina allows public inspection of clerk-maintained court records except where a law or court order limits access. In Alleghany County, the Clerk of Superior Court keeps the local case file for both Superior Court and District Court matters. The public eCourts Portal can help locate a public Register of Actions or Case Summary, but it is not the official record. The distinction matters when a reader needs a certified document, a paper-era file, or a current hearing confirmation.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in Alleghany County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to a North Carolina court, Clerk of Superior Court, or state agency. There are real limits to what this site can do:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the Clerk of Superior Court or the court that holds a case can issue an official or certified copy. Official documents must come from that custodian.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes operated by third-party providers. Those providers set their own terms, prices, and results. A paid enrollment through one of those links may generate a referral fee, but it does not change the official court routes described for Alleghany County.
